Reid Johnson, as a former artist signed to a major label in the early 90’s, the Long Beach, CA native has worn several hats — artist, stylist, writer, promoter, producer, consultant, publicist, and entrepreneur. Reid has always displayed strong leadership skills and a “get the job done well” attitude in whatever capacity she worked in. During her career as recording artist, Johnson worked with many well-known producers and artist in the music industry and thus began her rolodex.
In 1998 Reid was offered an opportunity to manage a multi-million dollar law firm located in the Beverly Hills area. Although the primary practice was criminal defense, they also dabbled a little in entertainment. Of course, this was right up Reid’s alley, not only would she work in a high profiled professional environment but, the pages in her rolodex would continue to grow. She spent the next seven years managing the law firm. Reid was a leader in streamlining the firms marketing campaign, implementing and executing direct marketing efforts that resulted in increase business, heightened awareness of the firm, and broad notoriety of the owner and lead counsel in the legal, professional sports and entertainment industries.
Throughout her tenure with the law firm Reid continued to do promotions and some PR independently. She loved discovering and working with new talent and wanted to provide them a place where they could perform and be seen by the right people. That dream would become the Artist Living Room, created and produced by Reid Johnson. The Artist Living Room was an industry-driven showcase that featured some of the hottest unsigned talent in Los Angeles. The showcase was a networking platform for artists to be introduced to label and music executives as well as some of the top agents and managers in the industry.
Before long the demand for Reid’s help became overwhelming. Although she found it both rewarding and exciting helping people to launch and elevate their careers, this didn’t come without a price…she was exhausted! And it was now time to make a decision and possibly a career change. Reid decided that her personality, confidence, contacts, and management skills were a perfect match for the publicity world. Transitioning out of the law firm, (and a steady paycheck) she took several classes, seminars and read many books on publicity before hanging up her corporate shoes. Reid says “classes and books taught me the concept but, it was actually getting out there meeting and targeting the right people that made the difference and helped me to grow so quickly”. She also says “it’s not who you know but, who knows you”!
In 2004, Reid officially launched Infinite Scope Entertainment PR! After a couple of failed partnership endeavors Reid met and joined forces with publicity partner Wyllisa Bennett, another perfect match! Sort of your good cop, bad cop situation but, they get the job done. Making their mark in the PR world the team has found themselves at the helm of one of the most sought after PR firm in Los Angeles!
With more than 15 years in the industry, Reid has developed and established relationships within the entertainment community. In all her endeavors, she has built a solid reputation as a “go-to” person. Her extensive list of connections and contacts involved a community of professionals from all areas of business, including law, music, film, and television.
Reid’s commitment and involvement to cause organizations is a reflection of the person she is and the clients she represent. Her affiliations include BMI, Entertainment Professional Publicists Society, Screen Actors Guild, and The Hershe Group. In addition, Reid spent over 12 years as a volunteer at Terminal Island Federal Corrections Institution as well as the Downtown Los Angeles Women’s Facility, encouraging rehabilitation in the lives of the inmates and her work continues today.
